The Ultimate Obsessed Nerd’s Guide to: “The Game of Thrones”

Ready, set, Go!  Okay, we are off, deep down the rabbit hole into the nether regions of The Realm…

Why does this guide exist?  Because rumor has it that they are going to make us obsessed fans wait as long as 18 months until we are able to devour Season 8.

After I completed viewing the finale of Season 7, I  came up with a brilliant idea to fill in the time gap until the premiere of Season 8.  To accomplish this feat I developed a plan. I have never read any of the #GOT books before, so why not go back and start at the beginning by listening to the audiobooks and put my monthly credit to good use on Audible.

At the time this post was begun, I had recently downloaded book 📚 #1.  I should be able to work my way through all the available books by early 2019, hopefully, simultaneous to Season 8 being ready to drop. 👓

Additionally, a new GOT book drops in Oct. 2017, so I have plenty of GOT homework to keep my cravings under control. Eight books in total with over 250 hours of audio… #Winning #Nerd #BookLover

What is this guide intended to do?  Several of my favs commented on Facebook that they thought the above plan was cool and expressed that they may join me in my audiobook driven GOT adventure.  I love being on a team or engaged in a group activity so my mind went into overdrive and this right here is the result.  I listen to my audiobooks most often during my commute to and from work.  It was during this commute home listening to Chapter 7 – Arya I that I said to myself, “Dubbs where does this part of the audiobook correlate to the HBO series?”

The conversation in my head continued and we all decided that it would be uber cool to the level of “The Dude” status if a guide existed where one could find a list of the audiobook chapters that showed how they matched up with each individual episode of all seven seasons (to the extent there is an audiobook version available.)  So, that is what this guide does, it helps you figure out when it is time to take a listening break and go back and re-watch (or watch for the first time if you are one of those holdouts who live under a stone with your head buried in the sand wearing GOT earmuffs) the episode that covers everything that you just listened to.  I think the whole idea is pretty F’in cool myself, but then again it was “our” idea.  “We” are biased as heck.

(Note – this is not named “the most efficient nerd’s guide to the GOT,” I did not search to see if this data already existed on the www thingy.  It would ruin the fun OCD part of my next 18 months if it did, and if it does, for the smart ass who will expose the “truth,” mine is way better by the simple nature that it is mine.  TRUST ME on that.)

The Guide’s Methodology & Process:  This is all in the works, but what I do know is that I am literally at the beginning of book one, so it will be a cumulative and step-by-step adventure.  As I listen and break to revisit the episodes I will be updating the content of this post until all the audiobooks are exhausted and every last drop of George R.R. Martin’s yummy #GOT goodness has been squeezed into this post.  I am soooooo looking forward to this long and arduous journey.

Bottomline:  I made this for me. And my friends.  If you find it interesting or useful – BONUS POINTS!  This is just how my nerdy brain operates, roll wit it, or gets to stepping.  And now without further ado, I am pleased to present:
